"Cool" Things About Presbyterians

• Cool Things:

  • In our God-Centered worship, we typically have a traditional service and are looking to blend with more contemporary, as we seek engage participants of every age;

  • Theology grounded in the Bible and guided by the conviction that our best understanding of who God is and what God is doing in the world is revealed in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ;

  • Presbyterian polity which includes safeguards against the abuse of power by any particular leader or group;

  • Piety and practice which challenge us to embrace the world (rather than retreat or withdraw from it) and engage in the life of the local community;

  • An understanding that Science and Religion can work together;

  • Respect for human diversity knowing we are all God’s children;

  • Presbyterians believe that the growing religious diversity in the United States is an opportunity for Christians to demonstrate the love of Christ. Our task is to prepare our members to fully understand what makes our witness as Presbyterians distinctive, and to help our members reach across boundaries of religious differences to build relationships of trust with those who embrace or belong to other traditions, or to no tradition at all.
