CALL TO WORSHIP (from Psalm 34)
One: I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.
All: I will glory in the Lord; let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
One: Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.
All: Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
One: Fear the Lord, you his holy people, for those who fear him lack nothing.
All: The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
One: The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
All: Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt his name together.

CALL TO CONFESSION
Nothing can be hidden from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth,
whose wisdom is endless, whose mercy is great. Trusting in God’s grace, let us confess our sin.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION (UNISON)
God of Glory, we know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted. Yet, like Job, we sometimes blame you when we lack understanding of your wonder. Your love for us knows no bounds. Forgive us when we do not appreciate the merciful gift of your Son, who offered himself up as the final sacrifice for our sakes. Inspire us with the knowledge that our High Priest, Jesus, is able for all time to save those of us who approach you through him, understanding that he always lives to make intercession for us.
One: Now that we have confessed as a body, let us take the truths that have troubled our hearts to God silently. Let us not be worried about the awkwardness of silence, as we take some time to focus on speaking with our God.

PASSING OF THE PEACE
One: Since God has forgiven us in Christ,
let us forgive one another.
The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
All: And also with you.
One: Let us share signs of peace with one another.

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The Apostles’ Creed
I BELIEVE in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by
the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he
rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the
right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to
judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

PRAYER OF DEDICATION (UNISON)
Merciful God, all things on earth and beyond belong to you. Not just physical things, but all power and majesty and love and refuge are yours. May these offerings today serve to spread your message of hope to the world. May that message beckon to all who wish to hear, “Take heart, get up, he is calling you.” Amen.
