CALL TO WORSHIP ( Psalm 23 )
One: The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
All: He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
One: He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
All: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
One: Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
All: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

CALL TO CONFESSION
Nothing can be hidden from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth, whose wisdom is endless, whose mercy is great. Trusting in God’s grace, let us confess our sin.
PRAYER OF CONFESSION (UNISON)
Heavenly Father, you know our every thought and see our every action. Sometimes we are like the kitten who hides his head under the couch and believes the rest of him cannot be seen, when all the while it is in full view. You are the source of all life - and yet we sometimes deny that we need you. Give us the courage to humble ourselves before your Son so that we may come to know him more fully. We confess that we often only come to you for what we think we need, rather than to be in constant prayer so that we might grow to understand what our true needs really are. Guide us towards your light and that of your Spirit and of your Son. Amen.
One: Now that we have confessed as a body, let us take the truths that have troubled our hearts to God silently. Let us not be worried about the awkwardness of silence, as we take some time to focus on speaking with our God.

PASSING OF THE PEACE
One: Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us forgive one another.
The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
All: And also with you.
One: Let us share signs of peace with one another.

AFFIRMATION OF FAITH The Apostles’ Creed
I BELIEVE in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
